Are you ready to get rid of that flushed look? Sick of too much redness on your nose, cheeks, or chin? Vbeam Perfecta might be the solution you’ve been searching for. This skin rejuvenation laser treatment is certified to treat wrinkles, fine lines, acne scars, small red clumps (angiomas), stubborn warts, lesions, the effects of rosacea, birthmarks (port wine stains), scars, sun damage, bruises, stretch marks, dilated blood vessels, and spider veins. The laser pulses increase your skin’s collagen production, which lessens skin blemishes and restores the skin to a healthy glow.

What is the Vbeam Perfecta Laser?

Vbeam Perfecta is a pulse-dye laser that can be used for a variety of pigmented lesions and vascular concerns. Laser energy is applied in pulses while a dye generates laser beams of various colors. Commonly used to treat dilated blood vessels and spider veins, the Vbeam is sometimes called a vascular laser. Vbeam Perfecta targets hemoglobin, the red-colored protein in blood cells, without damaging the surrounding skin cells.

What to Expect with Vbeam Perfecta

No needles, no anesthesia, no downtime. Patients usually sit reclined with eye goggles during the session. You may experience minimal discomfort; the brief pulses feel like hot and cold rubber bands snapping the skin, but the device emits a stream of cold air to minimize discomfort. After the treatment, you’ll apply an ice pack or cold water compress to the area for the next 1-2 days to help decrease swelling.

The number of treatments depend on the condition and the patient. We recommend about 4-6 treatments about 3-5 weeks apart, allowing the treatment to progress at a consistent but safe pace.

Recommended Pre-Treatment Instructions

Avoid Accutane for at least 6 months before your scheduled appointment. We do not recommend Vbeam Perfecta for pregnant women. If you have a history of cold sores or herpes simplex virus, talk with a physician before scheduling a laser treatment.

Immediately following the treatment, the target area will seem swollen and red, almost like a sunburn. Some patients experience bruising (purpura), especially for the treatment of port wine stains, but it clears over 7-14 days depending on the severity.

What Happens After the Treatment? Aftercare Instructions

The treated area may look red for a few hours following the treatment and in somes cases can last up to several days (albeit rare). Try to sleep upright or with an extra pillow to help decrease the swelling. Most patients don’t experience blistering or crusting, but some experience dry skin and flakiness. If this happens, use a high-quality moisturizer. Apply and remove makeup gently.

Are There Any Side Effects to Vbeam Perfecta?

If you have any long-standing medical condition, be sure to communicate the information with us, as laser energy can activate viruses. Although rare, Vbeam Perfecta can cause hyperpigmentation or hypopigmentation (the skin becomes lighter or darker), scarring, and atrophy (thinning of the skin). In early treatments, some demarcation can be seen, where patients can see a difference between treated and untreated areas.

Scarring, infection, and blistering are possible but extremely rare. Bruising is the most common aftereffect, but clears after 7-14 days. Be sure to wear the eye protectants during the treatment to avoid damaging your eyes.
